Nothing much to say about these except that the ice cream van pertains to an old, vague story idea called 99 that may yet see the light of day eventually. I really must find myself a half decent toy ice cream van for reference purposes though.

coming in 2012...

At a fine and champagne-y gathering of UK comics types in Oxford on Tuesday it was made public-ish that the late lamented DFC will rise again as The Phoenix early in 2012.

This is most assuredly A Good Thing and I hope very much to be aboard.

Anyone interested in further news as things develop would do well to sign up to the mailing list by going here.

Bumper four spread post this week to compensate for the diminished picture to word ratio on these pages...

The above were notes toward a short project on the MA course. I ended up attempting a variation of the "Lazy" idea (about a chap failing to complete a piece of work) as a comic strip and it remained forever unfinished after two rather poor pages. Which kind of worked rather neatly in a meta-textual sort of way though I'm not sure my very excellent tutor, Jackie Batey, saw things that way at the time.

I note with amusement the concern over my "working method". Obviously, thirteen and a bit years later no such issues persist. Ahem...
