I'm sorry, but I think you've missed the point. To focus exclusively on the staying or going lyric denies us a deeper reading of this soft-punk classic. Yes, Mick Jones' indecision over whether he should stay or go reveals a man in turmoil, torn between departing and remaining but a more pertinent question is exactly what kind of relationship is he in in the first place? His partner, we are informed, is constantly happy providing the narrator is 'on his knees' and yet we are also told that he is on her back and...zzzzzzzzz
