Ooh, I think that wooden idol thing on the right hand page was an exhibit in a big Royal Academy show (possibly imaginatively titled "Africa") that year. I went there with Dr Ruth Silverman, if memory serves (though often it does not).

And I still like the idea of Chronoman.
