but wouldn't the eyes be either side of the hole?
I guess if the eyes in the centre were more 'phantom' & changable, that would be cool - like you could put a hand through a 'mist of face' at the centre of the hole...

Ooh, well I kind of liked that ambiguity but I'll be playing around with some variations now you've said that. Probably post some results soon.
