Have you been out today?

Tom Gauld's elegant musings on the nature of Art (or perhaps, more accurately, the nature of Artists), in the form of his recent three week run of newspaper strip Hunter and Painter for the Grauniad, are now archived at his site. Reading it daily as it appeared in print I confess I worried that Tom maybe just wasn't suited to the daily strip form (where was the punchline in the final panel each day?) but that was just me being hidebound and conventional. Mr Gauld was working to a different rhythm, drawing a bigger picture. It all comes together quite beautifully when read as a whole. So why not go and do just that right now.
